Bird-Abatement at Hills Plaza, San Francisco

For large office complexes like Hills Plaza, pest birds can quickly become more than just a nuisance; they can create safety hazards, property damage, and costly cleanup needs. At this multi-building complex, starlings, pigeons, and gulls had taken over the rooftop and parapet walls, roosting under protected overhangs and creating messes along walkways and common areas.
Nation Wide Bird Control designed a multi-zone solution to fully protect the property:
• Zone 1: Rooftop Protection
Our team installed durable polyethylene bird netting across the entire rooftop, including under the overhangs. Once in place, the netting is virtually invisible, creating a complete barrier that prevents birds from nesting or roosting in these sheltered areas.
• Zone 2: Parapet Wall Deterrents
To keep birds off the parapet walls, we installed BirdFence®, an electrified bird wire system that humanely discourages birds from perching along the building’s edges. This prevents birds from loafing or scouting potential nesting spots, helping maintain the clean, professional appearance of the property.
With the right combination of proven products and expert installation, Hills Plaza remains protected from pest birds and the headaches they bring.
